Artist Statement
As an artist I work in collage, painting, printmaking and book arts. For years I used found objects, including book covers, old books and altered books in my sculptural work. I began making books about 25 years ago and continue to do so but irregularly. I love the form, the structure of books and mainly do not stray far from a conventional codex structure. I tend to use my collage techniques in most of my books. On occasion I teach workshops in book arts.
Biography
I grew up in Massachusetts, spent years elsewhere and came to Maine in 1998 where I live with my husband in Appleton and maintain a studio on our property. My work has been exhibited throughout New England and Michigan and internationally in Doha, Qatar and Hong Kong through the Art In Embassies Program of the State Department.
